TALENT ACQUISITION INSIGHT SERIES

Using Assessments in Talent Acquisition

Pre-employment testing/ assessments have been in use longer than you may think. The first standardized version was used in China in 605 AD and was a national standardized test called the Imperial Examination, which was given to select those for government positions.

Today there are a large variety of assessment tools that are used. Due to the adaptation of modern testing methods and algorithms, the ability to score tests quickly and provide feedback quickly to candidates has transformed access and speed. This remains however, despite being arguably the oldest and most explored aspect of the recruiting practice, the area that most TA leaders are least comfortable with and the area of recruiting practice most commonly in decline in terms of application and usage.

In this guide, we will explore some of the core areas for consideration if you are thinking about looking at assessments to improve hiring capability in your company.
